Me, my wellbeing and I

By Aaron Hume

Hello, my name is Aaron, and I am a member/ volunteer social media assistant here at The Man Cave. I have been asked if I would write this blog to try to explain my mental wellbeing and any tips I have to tell others about having good wellbeing in your life. First of all, I don't know why Matt asked me to do this blog in the first place as I am not the best person to explain good mental wellbeing because I don't take time out for myself. I always need to do something, be that talking to people or taking on too much work.

But hey ho, let's have a bash at this (lol).

What is good mental wellbeing? How this looks like for me? And what are other people's views on it?

Here's what I found!

A simple search on google for the meaning and one website has come up and stated that "Mental wellbeing doesn't have one set meaning. We might use it to talk about how we feel, how well we're coping with daily life or what feels possible at the moment." It continued, "Good mental wellbeing doesn't mean you're always happy or unaffected by your experiences. But poor mental wellbeing can make it more difficult to cope with daily life".

This example showed me that the meaning of wellbeing means lots of things and it is not just one straightforward answer. I think that good mental wellbeing means that you are good and in a healthy mindset. For others, this may mean different things to each person.

Here at The Man Cave, we are here to chat about anything you want. We aren't here to preach about mental health; we are a social group supporting each other. So many people think mental health is a bad thing, but it is not; really, it is just looking after yourself.

The question now is, will you #broup with me to help break down stigma? Come on. You know you want to!
